KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Juvenile Court Services <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: 09/03/2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of <br />Interlocal Agreement with the State of Washington <br />Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) <br />BACKGROUND: The Washington State Legislature enacted statutory <br />responsibility to create services for youth and families <br />called BECCA (named after the child who died without the <br />availability for court interventions prior to the statute.) <br />Those services include At Risk Youth (ARY), Children in <br />Need of Services (CHINS) and Truancy. The AOC <br />administers those services through annual grant agreement <br />with Juvenile Courts. <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office has reviewed the agreement and <br />draft resolution in accordance with Kittitas County process. <br />The Presiding Judge of the Superior Court reviewed and <br />signed the agreement after legal review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal <br />Agreement with the State of Washington Administrative <br />Office of the Courts <br />HANDLING: The Interlocal Agreement with Presiding Judge's signature <br />will be provided to AOC for their signature and return. A <br />copy of the original Resolution will go to AOC. Upon <br />ADC's response with the Interlocal Agreement an original <br />will be provided to the Clerk of the Board.
