BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019-IK <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FUNDING FOR A GRANT PURSUANT TO STATE FUNDING <br />THAT WAS ALLOCATED TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS AND <br />RESIDENCY OF ALL REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AND KIDNAPPING OFFENDERS <br />UNDER RCW 9A.44.130. <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature provides funding to local law enforcement <br />agencies through WASPC (the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs) to verify the <br />address and residency of all registered sex offenders and kidnapping offenders under RCW <br />9A.44.130; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds awarded are designed to support all aspects of Registered Sex <br />Offender Address Verification, and are required to be used for face-to-face verification of a sex <br />offender's address at the place of residency; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant cycle follows the state fiscal year, starting July 1, 2019 and ending <br />June 30, 2020, with funds disbursed in equal allotments each quarter; and <br />WHEREAS, funding from this program will also be used to send at least one staff person <br />to the OffenderWatch User Group meeting and the SONAR Committee Meeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the funding supports the efforts of the Sheriff's Office to enforce the legal <br />requirements of Chapter 9A.44 RCW and thus improve the community's safety, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that this <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs <br />be adopted. <br />ADOPTED this ufh dayof ~ef; 2019. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS C U TY, WASHINGTON <br />AP~ I <br />TO FORM: <br />Douglas R.
