Response 3:
Measuring Results*
Response 3 A:
Measuring Results*
Response 3 B:
Measuring Results *
Response 3 C:
Measuring Results*
Wiat tools will you use to 1reasure your event's irrpact on tourisni? Rease be specific and provide exarrples.
The Ellensburg Film Festival is a date-specific event happening during the first full
weekend of October each year. The 2018 Festival will be the 14th and we are
requesting funds to help market the 15th Festival in 2019 to audiences outside of
Kittitas County.
The tools we will use to measure the impact of the Festival on tourism in Kittitas
County will be attendee surveys, anecdotal information gained from conversations,
discussions with local mercants, paricipation of local businesses in the goody bags
and as sponsors.
2500 character lirrit
A. Is your project/event year-round or is it seasonal or date-specific?
r Year Round r Seasonal r-Date Specific
Your selection here sl1ould be suppcrtec by the dates you providec above, in the R-oject or Event lnforrration section.
B. Wiat strategies will you errploy to assure you are attracting tourists from at least 50 nil es away?
Our strategy is using paid advertising in publications, radio stations and online
sources aimed specifically at people who patronize the arts, particularly those with
an interest in films. The advertising sources we use are those reaching to the
entire Pacific Northwest and parts of Canada.
2500 character lirrit
C. W1at strategies will you use to assist in 1rnrketing all of Kittitas County as a tourist destination with your
event/project funding request?
We have "goody bags" for film talent and attendees who purchase Festival passes
that include information about Kittitas County. We get information from the Kittitas
County Chamber of Commerce about other things to see and do in the county. We
include maps and menus or coupons from area restaurants.
2500 character lirrit
Application Questions: Part 3
41 Collaboration
If your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other
events, how is this accomplished?
Collaboration*
SI Future Plans
The Ellensburg Film Festival has many partners that are integral to the success of
the Festival. Our partnership with Central Washington University enables the
Festival to screen films in the McConnell Theatre complex, using state-of-the art
equipment. We will use t\,\,Q theatres for the 2018 Festival, both within close
proximity of one another. The McConnell theatre seats 750 and the Tower Theater
seats around 120. We are continuing to offer a free family friendly screening at the
Ellensburg Public Library Hal Holmes Center on Saturday afternoon. We anticipate
no changes to our venues for the 2019 Festival.
Other partnerships include our business sponsors, Central's film department and
individuals who support specific films. Earlier this year, we partnered with
Ellensburg Community Radio and the Clymer Museum to offer free films downtown
as a way to maintain interest in films throughout the year. The Daily Record is
another strong partnership as they design our program and flyer. The flyer is
included in all newspapers during the week of the Festival.
2500 character linit
Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. Include any plans for ticket
sales, event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.
,.,. _,
