BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLIC RECORDS ACT AND RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT TRAINING SCHEDULE. <br />RESOLUTION No. 2019-______ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has previously directed regular <br />training for all employees on the management of Records and the processing of Public Records <br />Act requests in order to maximize performance and minimize liability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Board has accepted the previous recommendation of the Records <br />Management Committee that such training should occur on a bi-annual basis in order to provide <br />adequate training opportunities for new employees and those needing the required refresher; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It is approaching the time at which employees who received initial training <br />are due for refresher training on these subjects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Records Management Committee has researched and recommended a <br />process for setting a schedule and arranging the training; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The recommendation of the Records Management Committee is that the <br />basic Records Management and Public Records Act training, intended for new employees and <br />those needing to meet the refresher requirement, be made available two times per year, to be <br />scheduled in the second full week of November and the last full week of February; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The additional recommendation of the Records Management Committee is <br />that specific and more advanced training for Public Records Officers, Records Officers, <br />Department Heads and Elected Officials be held annually in the first and third full weeks of <br />October; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Records Management Committee has recommended that all advanced <br />training sessions be set on the applicable Tuesdays of those weeks at 1:30 PM; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Logistical realities require consistent scheduling and adequate notice to all <br />employees, Department Heads, and Elected Officials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Event Center has the facilities needed to accommodate these training <br />sessions; and <br />
