Publication in the paper of record of a notice that Kittitas County has adopted <br />the comprehensive plan or development regulations or amendments thereto, and such publication <br />shall state all petitions in relation to whether or not such actions are in compliance with the goals <br />and requirements of this chapter, RCW 90.58 or RCW 43.21C and must be filed within 60 days after <br />the publication date. <br />8. The County-Wide Planning Policies identifies the Conference of Governments as the body that will <br />allocate population projections based on criteria consistent with state law. Changes to the zoning map <br />shall only be conducted in a manner consistent with process to changes with the land use map. <br /> VISION STATEMENT <br />Kittitas County is a region with a distinct sense of place based on the quality and diversity of our natural and <br />built environment, valued recreational opportunities, respected rural working lands, unique regional <br />character, and commitment to a high quality of life. <br />Kittitas County addresses challenges of future growth in a direct manner. The diverse <br />housing needs of current and future residents is met by providing a range of housing types that ensure <br />adequate and affordable housing options. <br />Kittitas County enhances its regional character by preserving the diversity of existing resource tourism and <br />promoting future opportunities for expansion and establishment of new resource tourism opportunities. The <br />County protects, conserves, and responsibly manages natural resources through education, coordination, <br />facilitation, and long-term planning. <br />The cornerstone of the County's approach to planning is conducting activities in a manner that encourages <br />citizen involvement, enhances public trust, and promotes mutual understanding. <br />This plan is adopted by the county in compliance with the Washington State Growth Management Act, RCW <br />36.70A and under authority of the Planning Commission Act, RCW 35.63. This comprehensive plan is based <br />on a framework of community goals and objectives adopted by the county with the help of the various <br />subarea groups and other citizens as a final expression of public policy. <br />
