This kind of tourism exists without any special effort by the community.However, <br />it can <br />be enhanced if local residents have a strong sense of community pride and <br />know about its local attractions.That way,when friends and family visit,they <br />are more likely to act as goodwill ambassadors,encouraging their guests to <br />experience all the community has to offer.This project definitely has the Goal #1 <br />as a crucial part of the full scale plan.Additionally Goal 5 will not only encourage <br />small business but the partnerships to provide a distinctive and honest visitor <br />experience. <br />Another important group to consider are those who travel for business.This <br />includes corporate meetings,conventions,conferences,and educational activities. <br />As with visiting friends and family,a community also receives a certain amount of <br />tourism from this segment without any special effort.Having Suncadia in Cle Elum <br />the project not only shows efforts of Goal #10 proactively planning,but it <br />recognizes and respects the immediate need to help support such a destination <br />attraction.To build that relationship and to benefit the community (goal #6)and <br />satisfy the tourists (goal #4)coming through Cle Elum and staying at Suncadia and <br />other accommodation properties. <br />Most tourism efforts target a third kind of traveler:the leisure traveler.This <br />group travels specifically for experiences that cater to them and which can't <br />be found closer to home,and they spend the most amount of money.Every <br />true "destination"community caters to this group of travelers.Well,Cle Elum is <br />listed in 90%of the activities that the Tourism Plan reviewed and mapped out. <br />This traveler definitely comes through the core downtown of Peoh Ave and Oakes <br />Ave to access all the points of interest listed in your 11goals to further geotourism <br />within Kittitas County.Whether it is the market opportunities and land uses. <br />The Three Phases of Tourism <br />1.Get passers-by to stop. <br />As mention in your tourism plan,Cle Elum's Downtown offers multiple <br />opportunities to be involved with open space network and trails and to connect <br />those high priority activities to other county cities.Additionally,we are the hub <br />community for the Natural Access points and creating an interpretive area for <br />events,wildlife viewing,fishing,etc.
