Hello,
I am working on the county application for the Manastash Metric Bike Ride scheduled for October 5, 2019.
Listed below is our trash and recycling plan for the event. Please look it over and respond to my email with your
approval so that I may include it with the application. If you have any questions, please contact me. And thanks you for
your help ahead of time!
Carol
Manastash Metric Bike Ride
October 5, 2019
Trash and recycling plan
TRASH
Trash cans will be provided for us at Mt. Stuart Elementary School and at the New Life Church in Kittitas. They will
provide a dumpster as well for our use. Trash at both locations will be taken care by them.
We will be providing heavy duty trash bags at all of the other locations along the routes. All trash will be hauled back to
Mt. Stuart School for their dumpster.
All rest stops areas will have portable restrooms and they will be kept clean by our RSVP volunteers to avoid trash
buildup. Volunteers will wear disposable gloves when handling trash and garbage. Disinfectant wipes and sanitary gel is
provided at each rest stop for the volunteers and riders.
RECYCLING
We promote and encourage recycling at all of our events. The school and church have recycling containers and will take
care of these items to be recycled. We will provide the other rest stop locations with boxes and bags for items that can
be recycled. These items will be hauled back to Mt. Stuart School staging area and then taken by volunteers and staff to
the transfer station and placed in appropriate bins.
We will have 4 SAG wagons out on the routes all day long and will pick up any litter that we see that might have been
left by the riders. This has never been an issue during the past years events.
Carol Findley, Director
RSVP and Volunteer Center of Kittitas County
CWU
1206 N.
