BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - RESOLUTION AMENDING PREVIOUSLY PASSED RESOLUTION 2018-148 AWARDING FUNDING FOR GRANTS PURSUANT TO LAW AND JUSTICE COUNCIL RECOMMENDATIONS ON SPENDING OF 1/10TH OF 1% SALES TAX RESERVES WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Law and Justice Council met at their regularly scheduled meeting on August 15, 2018, and voted unanimously to approve the funding recommendations subsequently approved by the Board of County Commissioners in Resolution 2018-148; and WHEREAS: These expenditures are to be made from the 1 / l Otl1 of 1% sales tax reser<V e account established by the Board of County Commissioners for spending on special projects to foster cooperation, sharing of resources and enhancement of criminal justice projects within Kittitas County; and WHEREAS: The Law and Justice Council annually requests $ 5,000 from Law and Justice Grant funds to be set aside for any special training opportunities that come up during the year that will benefit the Criminal Justice agencies, and WHEREAS: This year the Law and Justice Council has the opportunity to sponsor some excellent training on "Implicit Bias and Cultural Competence", as described in the letter from Sheriff Dana dated March 4, 2019, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, and WHEREAS: the cost is $7,500 and the amount of $5,000 is what was approved for training in Resolution 2018-148. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners hereby amends the funding previously approved in Resolution 2018-148 to increase the training allocation from $5,000 to $7,500 and these expenditures shall be made from the 1 / l 01h of 1% sales tax reserve account. Criminal Justice Agencies training opportunities $7,500.00 (Examples: CIT Training, EMS Training, etc.)
