KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: March 19, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Amend Kittitas County Code 10.12.010 Adding Stop Signs <br />on Umptanum Road at Manastash Road and at Riverbottom <br />Road <br />BACKGROUND: Two county residents requested placement of additional <br />stop signs on Umptanum Road in October 2018. Public <br />Works staff conducted a speed study in late fall of 2018 <br />and recently produced results of the study for evaluation. <br />The Board of County Commissioners conducted a public <br />hearing on February 19, 2019 considering a speed <br />reduction for Umptanum Road. The Board elected to not <br />move forward with the requested speed reduction. Public <br />Works failed to advertise the requested stop sign request <br />with the speed reduction and is now addressing the stop <br />sign request. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Do not add stop signs on Umptanum Road. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
