EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />In addition to providing all material and labor, the Contractor shall perform the following: <br />•CHES will set up the tanks and associated piping as close to the septage lagoons as possible; <br />•CHES will pump the liquid material from the septage lagoons directly into the holding tanks; <br />•CHES will follow the lime application procedure set forth by Kittitas County and the <br />Department of Ecology; <br />•CHES will place 50 pounds of lime per I 000 gallons of septage pumped into the tanks; <br />•Kittitas County will supply the hydrated lime; <br />•CHES' crew will be responsible for adding in the hydrated lime to the holding tanks as material <br />is pumped in; <br />•CHES will allow the hydrated lime to mix and stabilize for 30 minutes and ensure that the pH is <br />a 12 or greater; <br />•CHES will disperse the lime-stabilized solution via vacuum truck and spreader bar off of the <br />truck; <br />•CHES will spread the material under strict guidelines set forth by Kittitas County and the <br />Department of Ecology; <br />•CHES will only spread the material in approved areas determined by Kittitas County and <br />the Department of Ecology; <br />• After the application procedure has been completed, CHES will perform the interior cleaning of <br />the holding tanks; <br />•Any solids encountered will be directly managed by Kittitas County. It is unknown at this time <br />the amount of solids to be expected. CHES will ensure that all solid materials encountered will <br />be dealt with in accordance with local, state and federal laws; <br />• If any waste is to be encountered -actual disposal amounts and associated costs will be <br />determined <br />once the waste profile has been approved, submitted and accepted into the disposal facility. <br />Professional Services Agreement (rev. 11/08/2018) <br />Page 14 of 19
