Response 1: The Cle Elum Downtown Association (CEDA) has been the lead agency for
Project/Event downtown revitalization for many years. The CEDA follows the National Main Street
Description * Center Four Point Approach to help Cle Elum put its -best foot forward into the
future. Successful projects have included new holiday building lighting, new
website, new updated town guide, event (i.e. Pioneer Days, Boo-Elum and
Christmas Cle Elum), entrepreneur development and more. Vacancy rates are at
low for the downtown, merchants revenues are climbing and the economic outlook
is strong.
Each year, the CEDA works to expand its outreach to build partnerships and
market the downtown. Thousands of people visit the Cle Elum downtown annually
because of it unique and authentic historic structures, great restaurants, shopping,
as well as the events. Downtown Cle Elum has become a destination through the
great work of many, including the CEDA and Chamber Tourism office.
According to the research don to date by Beckwith Consulting, of the 317
respondents tot the question "Have/Will you visit the following historical and cultural
facilities during your visit?", 183 responded yes and 73 responded maybe
regarding whether or not they would visit Downtown Cle Elum.
This application for Lodging Tax will assist the CEDA in working with other entities
Rotary Cruise Cie Elum, Eagles Fraternal, Boo-Elum, Christmas Cle Elum and the
tourism office to promote downtown events and boost promotions of smaller events.
In addition, the application will assist with funding a strong year-round marketing
campaign for visiting downtown Cle Elum and highlighting the revitalization work of
the Cle Elum Downtown Association.
Promoting downtown Cie Elum as a destination has been a long-term goal which,
through partnership with the Chamber's tourism office and improvements to the
downtown, is coming to fruition. By building a campaign to feature the downtown
and the many reasons to visit, whether it is for shopping and dining or as part of a
visit to Cie Elum for an event, the annual campaign will help create a consistency of
message that will resonate with visitors.
The campaign to visit and enjoy downtown done on a year-round basis will create
value-added advantage for events that occur in the downtown core and business
support of local stores and the potential business owners.
In addition to advertising, funding is being requested to upgrade the
cleelumdowntown.com websites to make them responsive design.
'see addtl info
2500 character lirrit
List of Intended Use of Funds*
Online Marketing -multiple channels within
Print Advertising
TV Advertising
Radio Advertising
Collateral Development - town maps, guides
Online Marketing Administration
Venue image promo and branding
21 Projections of Increased Tourism
Please provide the following estimates of how any money received will result in increases in the number of people
traveling for business or pleasure on a trip:
1.
