BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE No. 2019 - <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF A SPEED ZONE AND THE PLACEMENT OF SPEED LIMIT SIGNS <br />ON THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF GAME BIRD LOOP AND SAGE GROUSE LANE AND THE <br />PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS AT GAME BIRD LOOP AND SAGE GROUSE LANE AND <br />AMENDING SECTION 10.08.010 AND SECTION 10.12.010 OF THE KITTITAS COUNTY CODE <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County manages roadway speed limits and designates the placement of Stop and <br />Yields in County Code at Title 10; and <br />WHEREAS: Changing a speed limit and designating placement of stop and yields on a County Roadway <br />requires amending Section 10.08.0 10 and Section 10.12.010; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has determined that 25 miles per hour is an appropriate speed limit for the <br />entire length of Game Bird Loop and Sage Grouse Lane; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has determined that 25 miles per hour speed limit signs and the placement of <br />Stop signs as shown in Exhibit "A" would improve safety at this location for vehicular <br />traffic; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on Tuesday, <br />February 5th, 2019; to hear public testimony regarding the establishment of a speed zone <br />and the placement of speed limit signs and Stop signs on the above listed roads; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED That the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners, after <br />due deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does hereby establish a 25 mph speed limit on the <br />entire length of Game Bird Loop and Sage Grouse Lane; and authorizes the placement of speed limit signs <br />and Stop signs at the above stated locations and amending Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.0 10 and <br />Section 10.12.010 as indicated in Exhibit A. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That this ordinance will become effective upon the installation of the <br />appropriate signs. <br />ADOPTED this 5th day of February, 2019. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
