<br />56 <br /> <br />Sightseeing <br />Tourists drive SR-10 in the Upper Canyon and Canyon Road in the <br />Lower Canyon to observe and photograph the dramatic and varied <br />scenic vistas of the river, canyon cliffs, and wildlife from numerous <br />roadside shoulders, pull-offs, and public access sites. While there <br />are numerous roadside locations tourists frequent to take <br />photographs, many are dangerous traffic hazards. Scenic <br />wayfinding signs should be posted at the following safe and <br />strategic viewpoints from which to effectively observe Upper and <br />Lower Canyon scenic attributes: <br /> <br />§ Upper Canyon on SR-10 – 11 safe and strategic wide shoulders, <br />pull-offs, and public accessible sites effectively provide viewpoints <br />of the most scenic wetlands, cliffs, basalt outcrops, river segments, <br />pastureland, rural farmstead, and wildlife features in the Upper <br />Canyon if properly waysigned for tourist vehicles. <br />§ Lower Canyon on Canyon Road – 18 safe and strategic wide <br />shoulders, pull-offs, and public accessible sites effectively provide <br />viewpoints of the most scenic cliffs, basalt outcrops, river <br />segments, and wildlife features in the Lower Canyon if properly <br />waysigned for tourist vehicles. <br /> <br />
