<br />130 <br /> Conservancy, Forterra, Mountains to Sound Greenway, among <br />others. <br /> <br />A successor organization should be established to the Yakima River <br />Citizen Advisory Committee as a subcommittee to the Kittitas <br />County Public Lands Committee or as a standalone entity <br />responsible for: <br /> <br />§ Publishing consistent and current educational and <br />promotional materials - in public pamphlets, maps, brochures, and <br />other printed materials to be available from all agencies and linking <br />all agency websites to the same on-line information. <br />§ Coordinating river safety regulations and programs - for first <br />time river users particularly recreational floaters including county <br />ordinances concerning lifejackets and other procedures. <br />§ Facilitating emergency responses - by the Kittitas County <br />Sheriff and all other fire and police security agencies along the <br />river. <br />§ Developing public access sites – by designing, permitting, <br />submitting grant applications, generating or matching funds, and <br />facilitating enhancements to existing sites and the acquisition and <br />development of new access sites identified in this public access <br />plan. <br />§ Facilitating and promoting annual events - on the rivers <br />including Epic Float, Bird Watch, and others. <br />§ Organizing maintenance - including litter and garbage removal <br />up and down the river corridors on a continuous basis and <br />particularly following special events like the Epic Float. <br /> <br />Momentum building actions <br /> <br />There are a couple of immediate actions that can be taken by the <br />implementation management entity that will generate visibility and <br />momentum necessary to successfully implement this public access <br />plan. <br /> <br />§ Wayfinding signs - design, manufacture, and install a <br />comprehensive system of wayfinding signage that direct users and <br />tourists to every public access site and scenic viewpoint within the <br />Yakima and Cle Elum River corridors. The signs should highlight a
