NOTICE OF APPLICATION <br /> <br /> Notice of Application: Monday, August 27, 2018 <br />Application Received: Tuesday, July 17, 2018 <br />Application Complete: Monday, August 13, 2018 <br /> <br /> <br />Project Name File Number: Vantage to Pomona (CU-18-00001) <br /> Applicant: John Aniello, Project Manager: Pacific Power <br /> <br /> Location: The proposed project is a 230kV transmission line which would span 27.6 linear miles through a south east section of <br />Kittitas County. <br /> Proposal: The applicant is proposing to build and maintain a 230kV transmission line. The transmission line will connect Pacific <br />Power’s Pomona Heights substation in Yakima County to BPA’s Vantage Substation in Grant County. <br /> Materials Available for Review: The submitted application and related filed documents may be examined by the public at the <br />Kittitas County Community Development Services (CDS) office at 411 N. Ruby, Suite 2, Ellensburg, Washington, 98926, or on <br />the CDS website at https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/cds/land-use/default.aspx, under “Conditional Use Permits.” A vicinity map is <br />provided there for location reference. Phone: (509) 962-7506 <br /> Written Comments on this proposal can be submitted to CDS any time prior to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. <br />Any person has the right to comment on the application and request a copy of the decision once made. <br /> Environmental Review: An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been completed for this project under the National <br />Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) with the US Bureau of Land Management as the lead agency. A Final Environmental Impact <br />Statement was published in October 2016 identifying an Environmentally Preferred Alternative which reflects the route proposed <br />in this Conditional Use application. This FEIS is a project lead review, therefore, no further environmental review is required. An <br />electronic copy of the FEIS is available in the project file and on the CDS website linked above. <br />Public Hearing: An open record hearing will be scheduled before the Kittitas County Hearing Examiner.
