Generally, the following data were · <br />available: capitalization, operating revenues, operating expenses, number and size of <br />events at start-up, growth rates of revenues, costs, events, average number of horses. <br />Several-horse parks provided data for a number of years. <br />When this feasibility study was underway, we learned of two other horse parks under <br />consideration In Washington State. The first !nvolves the ceding of the Enumclaw <br />Fairgrounds facility by KJng County to the City of Enumclaw. One of the recommended <br />uses for the facility is an equestrian focused r~furblshing_of the f~irgrounds, so thaJ the <br />facility would become primarily an equestrian facility. A feasibility study is currently <br />underway; recommendations will be forwarded to the city in late December. The <br />second equestrian faclllty under consideration Is the Southwest Washington Regional <br />Equestrian Center in Centralia. It is envisioned as a larger ($80 mllllon) multipurpose <br />. . <br />facility, of which horse-related activities · will constitute about 25% of total revenues. The <br />center has funded a feasibility study with a focus on equestrian activities. <br />20
