Hunt, Jr. Horse Facility, Raleigh, NC. <br />Salt Lake County Equestrian Center <br />In addition to that which is obvious from the survey form In the appendices, .the <br />following data were requested from all horse parks: total events, equestrian events, <br />nonequestrian events, permanent stalls, temporary stalls, paved parking, unpaved <br />parking, total acreage, orgenization chart, rental policies, and equestrian event priority. <br />Of particular Importance Were financial data. Generally, the following data were <br />available: capitalization, operating revenues, operating expenses, number and size of <br />events at startup, growth rates of revenues, ousts, events, average number of horses. <br />Several. horse parks provided data for a number of years. <br />When this feasibility study was underway, we loomed of two other horse parks under <br />consideration in Washington State. The first Involves the ceding of the Enumclaw <br />Fairgrounds facility by King County to the City of Enumclaw. One of the recommended <br />uses for the facility is an equestrian focused refurbishing of the fairgrounds, so that the <br />facility would become primarily an equestrian facility. A feasibility study is curreritly <br />underway; recommendations will be forwarded to the city in late December. The <br />second equestrian facility under consideration Is the Southwest Washington Regional <br />Equestrian Center in Centralia. It is envisioned as a larger ($80 million) multipurpose <br />facility, of which horse -related activities -will constitute about 259 of total revenues. The <br />center has funded a feasibility study with a focus on equestrian activities. <br />20 <br />
