City of Yakima, North 1 • Street Fa,ade & Sip Replacement Propam <br />This Is an Incentive program to upgrade and Improve private development along this key corridor, encourase <br />property reinvestment, and enhance comprehensive clean-up efforts of the City. <br />9. Yalcama Nation Cultural Hertta1e center, Cultural Heritage Center Remodel <br />Remodel and update 35 year old Yakama Nation Cultural Heritage facility In Toppenish. <br />10, Kittitas/Yakima Valley Community Land Trust, Water Street ProJect <br />The Water Street Project will create the opportunity for 12 famllles at or below 80% of the area median income to <br />become first time home owners. This project is a multi-faceted economic development tool. Jobs are created <br />during all phases of the bulld out-street Improvements, Infrastructure construction, home design, and project <br />development. The homebuyer, who would not qualify for a traditional home purchase, will own the house and <br />bulld equity and stability as a contributing member of the community. <br />11. CWFA/State Fair Partc, Yakima Valley SunDarne Project <br />State Fair Park wants to attract events to Yakima by becoming a regional events center. The project would consist <br />of adding full catering services and an indoor covered vehlcle and storage area. <br />12, City of Union Gap, Main Street Redevelopmant <br />The redevelopment of Main Street wtthln Union Gap would provide new economic: opportunities along this old <br />state route corridor. The wrrent roadway Is flanked with used car lots, old roadside motels and sparse retail and <br />does not provide pedestrian access or parking. <br />U. City of Yakima, Publlc Market/Incubator <br />The project is desl1ned to provide lndlviduals with a place to test out business opportunities. The market would <br />Ideally encompass two stories and a basement totaling 27,500 square feet <br />14, City of Yakima, Yakima Airport <br />This _project Is included in the Airport Master plan and is designed to replace the Yakima airport passenger terminal <br />building. <br />15, YCDA • Educational Sllrvlce District 105, Business Education Partner1hlp <br />This project will create, coordinate and manage a partnership between STEM businesses, school districts, colleges <br />and universities, and other training providers. <br />16. Kittitas Environmental Ed. Network, Yakima River canyon Interpretive Center <br />The Yakima River Canyon Scenic: Byway Interpretive Center wlll serve as a resource to visitors and community <br />members, provldlns science based education for all ages and connecting our communities to nature through <br />quality environmental education. <br />17. City of Yakima, Downtown Farmers' Market <br />One of the elements ofthe Yakima Downtown Master Plan is to identify locations for additional publlc amenities <br />includin1 a permanent location for Farmer's Market and other Downtown events In the core downtown area. <br />The CEDS also contains an Implementation plan that identifies the key activities that will be <br />addressed during 2013. This part of the plan identifies the parties responsible for <br />Implementation and specific outcomes expected from each initiative. <br />7
