Community Input Resu lts <br />Summary of Additional Comments <br />Parking <br />People voiced concern that angle parking would reduce visibility and impede traffic. Parking and pedestrian <br />safety is of utmost importance on ist Street. People want parking accommodations for large trucks, trailers and <br />RVs. It was suggested that trucks and trailer parking could be provided on side streets or on Railroad Avenue. <br />Truck parking is an issue when the pass is closed. Motorcycle parking is also an important feature to <br />incorporate into the downtown plan. Several people suggested alternating the parking layout between blocks. <br />Traffic <br />People want to slow down or redirect truck traffic without discouraging people from coming to downtown. <br />People want visitors to feel comfortable slowing down to look at all the downtown has to offer. A few people <br />stressed the importance of conducting a traffic study to see what is feasible regarding traffic and parking. <br />Improved wayfinding was suggested to direct people to parking and amenities downtown. <br />Snow <br />Trees <br />Snow removal needs to be taken into account when deciding on parking layout and paving materials. <br />While many liked the larger trees in the 45 degree parking plan, others were concerned about visibility.
