CITY O F CLE ELUM <br />WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017..0U <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLE ELUM, <br />WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A DOWNTOWN <br />REVIT ALIZA TI ON PLAN PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE. <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation wiU rehabiJitate <br />pavement on First Street/State Route 903, including Cle Blum's downtown core area <br />hetween Oakes Avenue and Peoh Avenue in 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Cle Elum' s stormwater facilities on downtown First <br />Street must be updated prior to paving activitie& to avoid UMecessary damage to new <br />pavement or cost to the city; and <br />WHEREAS, the City stonnwater facilities mu.st be designed from Billings <br />A venue to Peoh A venue according to the Downtown Revitalization Plan Preferred <br />Alternative; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Cle Elum desires to focus economic revitalization efforts <br />in the downtown on First Street from Oakes A venue to Peoh A venue; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Cle Elum desires to create a safely walkable downtown <br />area, consistent with the City's Complete Streets Ordinance (Ord. 1455); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Cle Elum has completed a Downtown Revitalization <br />Planning Process with the public, the Planning Commission, and the City Council, which <br />resulted in a Prefened Alternative recommendation from the Cle Elum Planning <br />Commission presented to City Council on June 27, 2017; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLE EL~ <br />WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. A.dopted. The City of Cle Ehnn hereby adopts the Downtown Revitalization <br />Plan Preferred Alternative (attached hereto as Exhibit A) and ~tablishes the conceptual plan the <br />City will use to design downtown First Street from Oakes A venue to Peoh A v~nu~ and which <br />wilt be used to design downtown stormwater improvements from Billings A venue to Peob <br />A venue, and which will be used to secure additional funding to support this downtown and <br />economic revitalization process.
