Muni-Fomtily, Residential Diste3ct RM <br />The purpose and Went of the Multi -Family Residential District [RM] is to provide for <br />and protect higher density urban residential areas Where a mixture of multi -family <br />development may occur. Multi-finnnily residences may include duplexes, triplexes, quad- <br />plems, townnhornes, zein -lot line, unit -lot line or aparbneznt complexes. By permitting a <br />range of densities and multi-fnntily development types, the City will be able to achieve a <br />greater variety of available housing for fits residents, promote affordability, and Marin <br />existing single family neighborhood character. Cie Elum is working toward solid <br />strategies for afFordable housing options within the RM District. <br />111. Old Town Commercial Diddet-GTC <br />Tithe purpose and intent of the Old Town Commercial District [OTC] is to create an <br />active, vibrant, intens pedestrian -orientated retail core which reflects the historic <br />character of the City and which is a nervus for civic and community functions. Existing <br />Historic buildings should be preserved and serve as the benchmark for now construction <br />and infill development in the historic City Core. Additionally, this district is well suited <br />for traditional mixed-use development (i.e. dwelling units on the upper floors of <br />buildings) which promotes patmitnw to local businesses and farther diversifies housing <br />options. Entry Commercial District, -EC <br />The purpose and intent of the Entity Commercial District [EC] is to cue a unified <br />design of allowed commercial uses at f veway interchange area of the City.
