BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - <br />NOTICE OF INTENT TO FORMULATE KITTITAS COUNTY ROAD IMPROVEMENT <br />DISTRICT 2018-01, CREATING ROAD IMPROVEMENTS TO A SECTION OF WIEHL <br />ROAD FROM MP 0.00 TO MP 0.27 <br />WHEREAS: Residents utilizing an unimproved section of Wiehl Road to access residential areas <br />have previously submitted a petition to Kittitas County Public Works requesting the <br />formation of a road improvement district (RID); and <br />WHEREAS: The submitted petition failed to consider the required public roadway construction <br />requirement in state law; and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has directed Public Works to <br />finalize public road improvement design; and <br />WHEREAS: The roadway design is sufficiently complete to notice benefitted property owners of <br />RID estimated costs and said costs have been preliminarily presented to said property <br />owners; and <br />WHEREAS: The BOCC desires conducting a public hearing considering the merits of formulating <br />Road Improvement District 2018-01 Wiehl Road; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best <br />interest of the public, does hereby declare its intention to order the improvement to Wiehl Road, <br />setting forth the nature (EXHIBIT 1) and territorial extent of the improvement (EXHIBIT 2); and <br />does now state that actual assessments may vary from assessment estimates so long as they do not <br />exceed a figure equal to the increased true and fair value of the improvement adds to the property and <br />notifies all persons who may desire to object thereto to appear and present their objections at 2:00 <br />PM local time on November 20, 2018 at Room 109, 205 West Fifth Street, Ellensburg, WA. <br />DATED this 16th day of October, 2018, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />❑ Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br />Obie O'Brien, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />
