BOWERS FIELD — AIRPORT MASTER PIAN <br />materials for officials and citizenry on Federal and State requirements, and develop tools for <br />understanding grant Assurances. <br />Product: "Draft" Airport Compliance Summary working paper will be provided to the K1Tr1TAS COUNTY <br />and FAA. FAA deliverables defined in Work Element 15.4, Klttitas County deliverables defined In Work <br />Element 15.S. <br />Task 14.2 — Recycling and Solid Waste Management Plan <br />The FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (FMRA) extended the FAA Airport Improvement <br />Program through 2015. Along with the reauthorization of the program, FNIRA included a number of <br />changes to the AIP program. One such change Is the requirement of airport sponsors to develop a <br />recycling and solid waste management plan. The specific guidance is included in Program Guidance <br />Letter 12-08 (PGL 12-08) and is as follows: <br />dd. Develop a plan for recycling and minimizing the generation of airport solid waste. <br />The scope must be consistent with applicable State and local recycling laws and must <br />include the following: <br />1 A waste audit; <br />2 The feasibility of solid waste recycling at the airport; <br />3 Minimizing the generation of solid waste at the airport, <br />4 Operation and maintenance requirements; <br />5 The review of waste management contracts; and <br />6 The potential for cost savings or the generation of revenue. <br />14.2.1 Waste Audit <br />The Consultant will perform a waste audit of all current sources of waste material currently generated <br />on the airport. The audit will summarize material source, amount, current disposal protocol, and <br />applicable State and Federal requirements for disposal, if any. This will Include waste material <br />generated from standard annual operations at the airfield and a basic summary of construction waste <br />material generated through airfield improvement projects. <br />The waste audit will catalog waste sources including hangar tenants, FBO and maintenance hangar <br />wastes, annual event wastes, deplaned waste, routine airport infield maintenance waste (yard debris), <br />and construction waste generated through projects identified on the 5 year CIP. The waste audit will <br />summarize waste over the busiest summer month and also include estimates for any annual events. <br />G@NTURY WEST <br />T�rkr.�ar� Page i 39 <br />
