A27 VETERAN'S PREFERENCE <br />A27.1 SOURCE <br />49 USC § 47112(c) <br />A27.2 APPLICABILITY <br />Contract Types —This provision applies to all AIP funded projects that involve labor to carry out the <br />project. This preference, which excludes executive, administrative, and supervisory positions, applies to <br />covered veterans (as defined under § 47112(c)) only when they are readily available and qualified to <br />accomplish the work required by the project. <br />Use of Provision — No mandatory text provided. The following language is acceptable to the FAA and <br />meets the intent of this requirement. If the sponsor uses different language, the sponsor's language <br />must fully satisfy the requirements of 49 USC § 47112. <br />A27.3 CONTRACT CLAUSE <br />VETERAN'S PREFERENCE <br />In the employment of labor (excluding executive, administrative, and supervisory positions), the <br />Contractor and all sub -tier contractors must give preference to covered veterans as defined within Title <br />49 United States Code Section 47112. Covered veterans include Vietnam -era veterans, Persian Gulf <br />veterans, Afghanistan -Iraq war veterans, disabled veterans, and small business concerns (as defined by <br />15 USC 632) owned and controlled by disabled veterans.
