Subject: Updated
Before making our dream of Lost Pair Ranch into a reality, we knew we would have to go through the proper channels.
This was going to be a special events sporting clay venue that would be held on 35 acres of our 160 acres of private land.
Last spring (2017)- we started the process of putting together a very detailed and careful plan of our proposed 1st event.
It was going to be called the Fall Sporting Classic. We submitted an application and fee to Kittitas County along with our
detailed plan which included maps of the property, emergency plan, on site EMT, portable toilets, garbage/recycling,
parking, camping, and food handling licenses. Our goal for the Fall Sporting Classic was to bring in 100 shooters.
Shortly after the application was submitted we received a refund of our application fee and a letter stating we did not
need a permit to host this event on our private property until the number of people reached 300. As you can imagine
we were quite excitedl Our event was a huge success and we ended up hosting 97 shooters. After hearing the exciting
news from the county we applied to be the next venue to host the 2018 Washington State Sporting Clay Championship.
The Washington State Sporting Clay Association voted on it and it was awarded to us. We were ecstatic! Since we had
the green light from the county and from WSCA it was full speed ahead. Many hours have been spent Firewising our
property. Here is a list of just some of the items we have already purchased (out of our own pockets) for this special
event:
$35,000.16 Mec trap machines
$5,200. Trophies
$2000. Batteries
$735. Insurance policy
$500. Long range receivers
$300. Solar panels
Volunteers from all over the state have attended numerous weekend work parties including Many UKC residents. They
have spent countless hours of back breaking work over the last year in preparation of this event. Sponsorships are in
place. Entrants have put deposits down, purchased airline tickets and reserved hotels. Some of the top professional
shooters from across the country plan to attend. This is a BIG DEAL! All neighbors who share a property line have all
been contacted and know our plan. The approximate number of shooters for the 2018 State Championship is between
150-200 plus spouses. Our goal is to host 2 smaller events consisting of a one day shoot (5 hours of shooting) and 2
larger events consisting of a 3-4 day shoot (8 hours of shooting).
We hope you will take all of this into consideration.
Thank you,
Lost Pair Ranch
Sent from my iPad
