BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO . dO l J -'3 1 <br />RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE BID FOR DESIGN, FABRICATING, FINISHING <br />AND TRANSPORTING A STEEL MODULAR BRIDGE AND AUTHORIZE THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County qualified for FEMA Financial Assistance needed as a result of the <br />November 2015 flooding event at Ringer Loop; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works successfully negotiated an <br />alternative project with FEMA; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited bids for the procurement of a 90 foot <br />temporary steel bridge in accordance with RCW 36.77.020 Contract Procedures; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on July 21, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Kittitas County <br />Permit Center, Department of Public Works, 411 N. Ruby Street, Suite 1, <br />Ellensburg, Washington; and <br />WHEREAS: Three (3) bids were received for the prescribed work. The Public Works <br />Department recommends the lowest responsive bid be accepted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby award the contract for the Design, Fabricating, Finishing <br />and Transporting a Steel Modular Bridge to Big R Bridge in the amount of$147,678.53. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the <br />contract documents for said project. <br />DATED this 1st day of August, 2017, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />o Deputy Clerk of the Board-Mandy Buchholz <br />~ <br />F COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />UNTY, WASHINGTON <br />~ <br />Obie O'Brien, Commissioner
