In order to protect the <br />public health, welfare, and safety of the <br />people it is necessary that provision be <br />made for the regulation and licensing of <br />well contractors and operators and for the <br />regulation of well design and construction. <br />Chapter 13 .20 <br />KCC Title 13: WELL CONSTRUCTION, Allows the developer of a plat to bond for <br />Water and RECONSTRUCTION AND completion of the water system <br />Sewers DECOMMISSIONING infrastructure. <br />REQUIREMENTS <br />Well Setbacks: <br />Prior to approving any development, the <br />health officer shall require establishment of <br />a 100 foot radius water supply protection <br />zone to fit within the lot lines OR <br />Establishes a wellhead protection zone <br />around each existing or proposed well site. <br />(1) /!;L person proposing a subdivision v/here <br />the use of OSS is planned shall obtain a <br />recommendation for approval from the <br />local health officer as required by RCW <br />58.17.150. <br />OSS Regulations- <br />246-272A-0320 Developments, subdivisions, (2) The local health officer shall require <br />WAC and minimum land area the following prior to approving any <br />requirements development: <br />(a) Site evaluations as required under <br />WAC 246-21?A-0220, excluding <br />subsections (3)(a)(i) and (4)(d); <br />(b) Where a subdivision with individual <br />wells is proposed: <br />(i) Configuration of each lot to allow a <br />one hundred-foot radius water supply <br />protection zone to fit within the lot lines; or <br />24
