CITY OF ROSLYN <br />National Historic District and Preserve America Community <br />Local and Regional Connectivity (refined) <br />Section 4(a): Recreation Demand (from the Kittitas County -Park, Recreation & <br />Open Space Plan, 2016) <br />Population Trends <br />The City of Roslyn had a net decrease in the last decennial census (Washington State Office of Financial <br />Management) from 1,017 in 2000 to 893 in 2010. This decrease has been attributed to a number of <br />factors including, the financial and housing market collapse of 2008, the rise of 2nd home ownership <br />within the city limits, and natural population decline due to deaths of older residents. Currently Roslyn <br />is witnessing a resurgence of new home construction within the incorporated limits of the City and in <br />adjacent unincorporated Kittitas County for the last 4 - 5 years. The information provided below was <br />taken from the Kittitas County Park, Recreation, & Open Space Plan, 2016, which is a similar trend <br />witnessed by the City of Roslyn on a more local scale. <br />27
