The CAC
has held two previous workshops to better inform our efforts and the Charrette was a columniation of
them. The first was a Regional Assessment, and brought stakeholder groups from around Upper Kittitas
County to determine how the RUF fits regionaf/y for recreation and habitat. Participants in this charrette were determined because of local
involvement, knowledge, and willingness to participate in the entire event. There were also 10-12
landscape architects who participated. Folks were then split up into five working groups that focused on
the areas of the natural environment, access and infrastructure, regional connectivity, education. and
human corridors. Groups then pooled their information together to draft a comprehensive vision from
the weekend's worth of work. This was then presented to the public at an open house on Saturday
evening.
22
