CITY OF ROSL YN <br />National Historic District and Preserve America Community <br />The CAC RUF and The Wilderness Society worked in partnership with the National Park Service, Kittitas <br />County Health Department, the Cle Elum/Roslyn School District, local businesses, and the citizens of <br />Roslyn and held a public meeting to gather information to inform the development of the RUF Recreation <br />and Trails Plan including: <br />Community Vision <br />Current Use Patterns <br />Access <br />What's working and what's missing <br />Youth Input <br />October 2011: Roslyn Urban Forest Design Charrette <br />A two-day event in partnership with The National Parks Service Rivers Trails Conservation Assistance <br />Program, the Washington Chapter of the American Society of landscape Architects, and the Wilderness <br />Society that brought together both local subject-matter experts and professionals from outside the region <br />to create visuals and specific design proposals for the RUF's future recreation and trails network and <br />infrastructure. <br />Topics considered included: <br />The Natural Environment <br />Access and Infrastructure <br />local and Regional Connectivity <br />Education <br />Human Corridors <br />June 2012: A Community Open House <br />This event provided an opportunity for folks to review drawings and maps. Attendees discussed the <br />work so far and provided input. An opportunity to walk in the forest was offered . <br />2008 to Present: Roslyn Urban Forest Citizen AdviSOry Committee Meetings <br />The CAC holds regular public meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month to move planning <br />and implementation efforts forward and collect public comment on plans and activities. <br />2016: Roslyn City Council Meetings and Workshops -Discussing and Finalizing the Recreation and Trail <br />Plan <br />The City of Roslyn's Mayor and City Council have taken steps to pull the collective work of the various <br />efforts outlined above to develop a comprehensive recreation plan for the City. Citizens were invited to <br />attend and provide input. <br />Section 4: Demand and Need Analysis <br />The City of Roslyn and the CAC have submitted multiple surveys to local residents, students at the Cle <br />Elum/Roslyn School District, and other stakeholder groups to gather additional information about what <br />is important and what is needed regarding recreational opportunities in and around Roslyn. <br />10
