Replacement shall not occur more <br />frequently than every two (2) years. <br />19.8 A uniform is assigned to control room, clerical, transport, and technology employees at <br />the discretion of the Sheriff. Such uniforms will be purchased by the Employer. <br />ARTICLE 20 -WAIVER OF PORTION OF AGREEMENT <br />20.1 The expressed provisions of this Agreement may not be waived except by mutual <br />agreement of the Union and the County, and in any individual case, the affected employee. <br />Neither the County nor the Union will ask for, or accept, a voluntary waiver by an employee <br />without prior consent of the other party. <br />ARTICLE 21 -SAVINGS CLAUSE <br />21.1 Should any section or portion thereof of this Agreement be held unlawful and <br />unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision of the court shall apply <br />only to the specific section or portion thereof, directly specified in the decision. Upon the <br />issuance of such a decision, the parties agree immediately to negotiate a substitute, if possible, <br />for the invalidated section or portion thereof. <br />ARTICLE 22 -LONGEVITY & EDUCATION PAY <br />22.1 The Employer will compensate employees who qualify for longevity pay in conformity <br />with the schedule set forth below. For entry level hires, longevity is based on continuous years <br />of service with the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office, regardless of division or classification; for <br />employees hired as a lateral transfer, longevity will recognize time in service with the agency <br />they lateral from, based either on date of hire with that agency, or date of cnc certification, <br />whichever is later. <br />longevity <br />Upon Completion <br />5 years with KCSO <br />10 years with KCSO <br />15 years with KCSO <br />20 years with KCSO <br />Amount per Month <br />Above Base Pay <br />$35.00 <br />$100.00 <br />$125.00 <br />$150.00 <br />22.2 Education pay is available for employees with a degree in a field that directly relates to <br />their primary responsibilities within the Sheriff's Office (see chart below). If an employee <br />qualifies, he or she must request education pay through the Sheriff in writing, and provide a <br />copy of their degree certificate.
