10.8.4 The Employer will commence arranging priority vacation scheduling by employee <br />request during the month of January in the order of the employees' seniority. Eligible <br />employees must schedule at least one (1) block of five (5) consecutive work days, but not <br />more than three (3) five (5) day blocks per calendar year, no later than January 31st. A <br />tentative vacation schedule shall be posted no later than February 15th. <br />10.8.5 Any vacations scheduled during the remainder of the year and requested over five <br />(5) calendar days but not more than eight (8) weeks in advance of the days off, shall be <br />scheduled in the order of their request without regard to seniority. The Employer may not <br />reschedule vacations without five (5) days notice, unless with the consent of the employee, <br />or due to an emergency. <br />10.8.6 Pass Bid: Employees may pass bid any and all of their full weeks of vacation; <br />however, such employees will be subject to Section 10.9. <br />10.9 All requests for leave will be responded to within a reasonable time and are subject to <br />approval in writing by the employee's supervisor or his designee. If such a request is denied, <br />the reasons for such denial shall be set forth in writing. Where the employee does not receive <br />a response within a reasonable time of the request, the employee should contact the <br />immediate supervisor or Corrections Commander. <br />ARTICLE 11 -HOURS OF WORK -OVERTIME <br />11.1 Corrections and Control Room Operator: The work day shall consist of eight (8), ten <br />(10), or twelve (12) hours of work, including meal period and rest periods depending on the <br />shift worked as set forth in Section 11.1.1, Section 11.1.2, and Section 11.1.3. The parties agree <br />the following classifications are considered "security personnel" as defined by 29 CFR <br />553.211(f). <br />• Corrections Lieutenant <br />• Corrections Sergeant <br />• Corrections Corpora I <br />• Corrections Officer <br />• Control Room Operator <br />11.1.1 (8 Hour Shift): In cases of a work shift of five (5) eight (8) hour work days, the <br />work week shall consist of forty (40) hours of work, with two (2) consecutive days off, <br />except during a normal shift rotation. The Sheriff shall provide a minimum of eight (8) <br />consecutive hours off between shifts. <br />11.1.2 (10 Hour Shift ): In cases of a work shift of four (4) ten (10) hour work days, the <br />work week shall consist of forty (40) hours of work, with three (3) consecutive days off, <br />except during a normal shift rotation.
