8. Describe any research your organIzation has conducted whlch shows the need for this position. Please <br />include the data upon which your claims are based for our revIew. <br />A 2009 analysis prepared by T.I.P. Strategies of Austin, Texas concluded that successful <br />economic development efforts in the county would require double the current staffing, or 4 full- <br />time positions. If anything, that need is even greater today. Business assistance at the local level <br />has always been critical, which is why the State Department of Commerce established the ADO <br />designation and the Federal Economic Development Administration formed Economic <br />Development Districts. Another Kit1itas County Economic Impact Analysis was completed by <br />Hebert Research Inc. in September of 2010. Both studies reached similar conclusions in that the <br />most effective form of business assistance comes from local sources that understand the <br />business environment and know the local development and business regulations. <br />Submit the original application to: <br />Kittitas County Department of Public Works <br />411 N.
