KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />May 15, 2018 <br />Direct Staff Prepare Award Letters to 2018 Surface <br />Transportation Block Grant Recipients <br />BACKGROUND: Every biennium, federal transportation funding flows <br />through the state from the federal government for local <br />agency improvements. The County solicits cities for grant <br />proposals. The proposals are scored by a technical <br />committee (County and City members) and the committee <br />meets to make a funding recommendation to the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />The committee recently met and the results of the project <br />scoring sheets are attached to this report (EXHIBIT 1). A <br />summary of project and recommended funding award is <br />attached as EXHIBIT 2. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Direct that staff prepare letters of award to project <br />recipients. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />Exhibit 1: 2018 STBG Scoring sheet <br />Exhibit 2: 2018 STBG recommended project funding <br />awards <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
