Homeland Security Region 7-KittitasThis work plan supports the 2017 Washington State HSGP (SHSP) Investment lustiffcation, Investment N3 —Washington Regional Homeland Security Projects, Project #7—Region 7 Homeland Security (WA77SHSP>INV-3>PROI-7).PROJECT DESCRIPTIONRegion 7 Homeland SecurityFunding will be utllized to close gaps in six identified capability areas:1) Public Information and Warning-partial gaps identified In mass-not(fication capabilities to overall population.Assessment of public notification and outreach program during all-hazard response has identified a gap specific tocommunicating evacuation notification and information with limited English speaking persons;2) Infrastructure Systems•not all critical infrastructure assets have been identified within the region and threatsand hazards need to be assessed;3) Operational Communications-equipment updates are ongoing w(th local fire dlstr(cts, law agencies, EMS andother enti[ies;multi-year project is underway to enhance communications interoperabiliry across the region;4) Interdfct(on and Disruption-Specialty tactics teams have a gap related to training and equipment specific todomestic terrorism and other terrorism risks. The Ilnk to the approved project in the 175HSP Investment Justificationis-4) Interdiction and Disruption-Specialty tactics teams have a gap related to training and equipmentspecific to domestic terrorism and other terrorism risks; tactical ballistic vests need replacement and thereis a need for on-scene medical surge equipment. Gans exists due to lack of equipment and agingequipment. The focus area for this funding cycle is equipping specialty teams (such as SWAT►. Fundlne willbe used to purchase monitors and hard drives for a mobile forensics machine; a tactical pole camera; andheavy vests and ballistic plates for special teams. Additionally, some funding will be used to continue aneffort to provide life saving equipment (such as tourniquets) to responders. A fee for the storage unit,which houses the mobile command post and other SWAT tactical equipment and vehicle, will be coveredby the sub ro'ects funds.
