Staff Note: last year this event was looked into with regard to Admissions Tax <br />requirements and Neil Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor worked with CDS to determine that <br />the event begins and ends on City property and 2 out of the 3 legs take place on City <br />property there is only a small portion of the bike ride on County property. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application to hold Ellensburg <br />Triathlon, including the Carey Lakes 10K and 5K Runs to be held on July 14, 2018 and <br />grant their request for a waiver to Kittitas County Code Chapters 5.20.100 Penal Bond – <br />Bond of Indemnity and Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 Closing Hours, noting the <br />Applicant follows through with the requirements set out by Public Works & possible <br />County Auditor requirements. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BOCC staff to send letter to applicant of the Board’s decision & <br />notice to County Departments. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Special Event Applications <br /> Certificate of Liability Insurance with endorsements <br /> Memos from County Departments with recommendations <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II <br />
