BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />DEMONSTRATING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUPPORT FOR <br />AIRPORT AID APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION <br />AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />AVIATION DIVISION FOR BOWERS FIELD AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS TO EXECUTE THE AIRPORT AID APPLICATIONS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works intends to submit Airport Aid Applications to the <br />Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Washington State Department of <br />Transportation Aviation (WSDOT) for an Environmental Assessment (EA) at <br />Bowers Field airport (ELN); and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works intends to submit Airport Aid Applications to FAA <br />and WSDOT for Runway 7/25 pavement removal design and construction at <br />ELN; and <br />WHEREAS: The current anticipated total project funding is estimated to be $433,333 including <br />$333,333 for the EA, and $100,000 for Runway Pavement Removal Construction; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: FAA requires local sponsors of airports to provide 10% match to all awarded <br />grants; and <br />WHEREAS: WSDOT may be able to assist Kittitas County meeting grant match obligations; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: The Airport Funding Application requires that funding applicants submit a <br />Resolution of Support from the Board of County Commissioners, stipulating that <br />local matching funds have been budgeted for the project; and <br />WHEREAS: The Airport Fund's portion of matching funds for these projects (without WSDOT <br />funding assistance) is estimated at approximately $43,000 which is in the Airport <br />budget as fund reserve; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners declares it be in the best interest of Bower Field Airport, and does <br />hereby support the funding request for Bowers Field and authorize the Director of <br />Public Works to execute the Airport Aid Application; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners have <br />budgeted funds in the amount of approximately $43,000 to match funding for the <br />two projects. <br />
