BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - <br />TO APPROVE THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON A LETTER TO THE COUNTY <br />ROAD ADMINISTRATION BOARD FOR RAP PROJECT #1917-01 <br />REQUESTING THE REDUCTION OF RURAL ARTERIAL TRUCT ACCOUNT <br />FUNDS AND ADVANCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION FUNDING FOR THE <br />MANASTASH ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS: The Manastash Road Bridge project will replace the deteriorated bridge <br />over Manastash Creek at MP 10.60. This bridge is currently load <br />restricted and is the only access in and out for many residents and <br />commercial operations; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works submitted a Project Prospectus requesting Rural Arterial <br />Program funds (RATA) from the County Road Administration Board <br />(CRAB) for the replacement of said bridge in the amount of $1,300,000; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works was notified by CRAB on August 17, 2017 that the design <br />funding necessary for the project had been awarded in the amount of <br />$315,480; and <br />WHEREAS: Resolution 2017-146 authorized the signing of project agreement #1917- <br />01 with CRAB for the expenditure of the design funding; and <br />WHEREAS: On December 6, 2017 Public Works was awarded Federal Funding from <br />the Local Bridge Program (BRAC) in the amount of $2,746,970 with a <br />13.5% local match requirement; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County is requesting to reduce the original RATA fund request <br />from $1,300,000 to $686,325 this request allows Kittitas County to <br />complete the design ($315,480) and fund the 13.5% local match <br />requirement for the BRAC funds ($370,845); and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County is also requesting authorization and advancement of the <br />RATA construction funds to quarter four 2018; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in <br />the best interest of the public, does hereby approve the Chair's signature <br />on a Letter to the County Road Administration Board for RAP project <br />41917-01 requesting the reduction of Rural Arterial Trust Account Funds <br />and advancement of construction funding for the Manastash Road Bridge <br />Replacement Project <br />
