KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: February 611', 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the Chair's signature on a Letter to <br />the County Road Administration Board for <br />RAP project #1917-01 requesting the reduction <br />of Rural Arterial Trust Account Funds and <br />advancement of construction funding for the <br />Manastash Road Bridge Replacement Project <br />BACKGROUND: The Manastash Road Bridge project will <br />replace the deteriorated bridge over Manastash <br />Creek at MP 10.60. This bridge is currently <br />load restricted and is the only access in and out <br />for many residents and commercial operations. <br />Public Works submitted a Project Prospectus <br />requesting Rural Arterial Program funds from <br />the County Road Administration Board <br />(CRAB) for the replacement of said bridge in <br />the amount of $1,958,000. <br />Resolution 2017-146 authorized the signing of <br />the project agreement with CRAB for the <br />expenditure of the design funding that had <br />been awarded in the amount of $315,480. <br />Public Works successfully received a grant <br />from Federal Highways BRAC program <br />funding the bridge replacement. This has <br />resulted in our ability to reduce the RATA <br />funds needed request that CRAB authorize the <br />reduction in funding, advance the funding <br />from 2020/2021 to 2018 in an attempt to cover <br />Public Works 13.5% local match requirement <br />through the BRAC program. <br />If successful this $3,000,000 bridge replacement <br />project would only end up requiring the use of <br />
