CONTRACT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The following special provisions are to be used in conjunction with the 2018 edition of the <br />Washington State Department of Transportation's "Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and <br />Municipal Construction" M 41-10, as amended, which by reference are hereby made a part of <br />these documents. <br />The special provisions hereinafter contained shall supersede any conflicting provisions of the <br />Standard Specifications. <br />Where the word State appears in the Standard Specifications, the County of Kittitas shall be <br />used in this contract. Where the terms Engineer or Secretary of Transportation appears in the <br />Standard Specifications, Kittitas County Public Works Director shall be used for this contract. <br />Where the term Washington State Highway or Transportation Commission appears in the <br />Standard Specifications, Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners shall be used for this <br />contract. <br />DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />This Work provides for the supply of crushed aggregate to Kittitas County, the materials to be <br />supplied include: <br />• Crushed Surfacing Top Course <br />• Crushed Surfacing Base Course <br />• Common Borrow <br />• Light Loose Rip Rap <br />• Quarry Spalls <br />• Maintenance Sand <br />• Coverstone Maintenance <br />Kittitas County seeks bids for the supply of crushed aggregates, including delivery to Upper <br />County, Lower County, and for pickup at the Vendors Identified Location. <br />Geographical limits for "Upper County' and "Lower County" as depicted in bid proposal <br />schedules B and C shall be as illustrated in Exhibit A "Maps" of these Contract Special <br />Provisions. Bid proposal schedule A indicates prices for Vendor loaded. <br />STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />1. No alteration in any of the terms, conditions, delivery price, quality, quantities, or <br />specification of this order will be effective without written consent of the Kittitas County <br />Department of Public Works. <br />2. For any exception to the delivery date as specified in this order, Vendor shall give prior <br />notification and obtain written approval thereto from the Kittitas County Engineer with <br />respect to delivery under this order. Time is of the essence and the order is subject to <br />termination for failure to deliver as specified and/or appropriate liquid damages. The <br />acceptance by Kittitas County Department of Public Works of late performance with or <br />without objection or reservation shall not waive the right to claim damage for such <br />
