BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF <br />KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE No. 2018 - <br />ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS AND THE PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS <br />ON MIDDLECREST DRIVE and SUNNYVIEW LANE. <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 10.08.010 (25 MPH) AND 10.12.010 (STOP & YIELD SIGNS) OF <br />KITTITAS COUNTY CODE <br />WHEREAS: The Currier Creek Estates Division 3 Development is within the Urban Growth <br />area, requiring conformance with City of Ellensburg standards. The 25 miles per <br />hour speed limit is consistent with the City's speed limit standard (RCW <br />46.61.400); and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has determined that 25 miles per hour isan <br />appropriate speed limit for the above roads based on parcel size, existing and future <br />access locations; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has determined that 25 miles per hour speed limit <br />signs would improve safety for the above roads; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has determined that stop signs would improve safety <br />at the following intersections: Sunnyview Lane at Creeksedge Way, Sunnyview Lane at <br />Peakview Drive and Middlecrest Drive at Sunnyview Lane; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED That the Board of County Commissioners after due <br />deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does hereby establish the placement of stop signs and <br />does hereby establish a speed limit of 25 mph on all new sections of Clearview Drive, Peakview Drive, <br />Creeksedge Way and Middlecrest Drive and amending Sections 10.12.010(1) and 10.08.010 of the <br />Kittitas County Code. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That the Kittitas County Code Section 10.12.010(1) be amended to <br />add the following as Stop controlled Intersections: <br />Sunnyview Lane at Creekedge Way <br />Sunnyview Lane at Peakview Drive <br />Middlecrest Drive at Sunnyview Lane <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That the Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.010 be amended to <br />add the following roads as a 25 mile per hour roads: <br />New sections of Middlecrest Drive <br />Sunnyview Lane the entire roadway. <br />
