<br />Marian Meadows Rezone and Subdivision Final Environmental Impact Statement 3-111 <br />Summer activities include 2 miles of biking trails, 2 miles of hiking trails, an amphitheater, a basketball <br />court, horseshoe pits, boat launches, docks, a playground, horse trails, and picnic sites. The Easton State <br />Park also includes 95 standard campsites, 45 campsites with utilities, four restrooms with four showers, <br />and a dump station. Winter activities include a designated Sno-Park located near the boat launch area, <br />which features 40 parking spaces. <br />Iron Horse State Park is located along the south side of I-90, less than 1 mile from the project site at its <br />closest. Iron Horse State Park is located on the abandoned Milwaukee Road railroad right-of-way. The <br />park consists of a non-motorized trail connecting Iron Horse State Park to Lake Easton State Park. This <br />trailhead is also accessible from Easton via Railroad Street. For the areas near the project site, the trail is <br />used for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and dog sledding as well as passive activities such as bird watching <br />and enjoyment of nature. There are a number of additional trails that connect with Iron Horse State Park, <br />including several cross-country skiing trails and routes to fishing locations. <br />Sno-Park Winter Recreation Sites <br />The WSPRC program provides cleared parking areas for winter recreationists in proximity to groomed <br />and/or backcountry trails. The state maintains two kinds of Sno-Parks: <br />Snowmobile Sno-Parks are funded by snowmobile registration fees, a percentage of the state fuel tax, <br />Sno-Park permit revenue, and volunteer hours. The program includes snow removal, trail grooming, <br />sanitation facilities, mapping, trail signs, safety education, and enforcement. <br />Non-motorized Sports Sno-Parks are funded primarily by Sno-Park permit revenue, state fuel tax, and <br />volunteer hours. Facilities accessed from Sno-Parks include cross-country skiing, dog sledding, <br />snowshoeing, and snow play. <br />The closest Sno-Park is at Lake Easton State Park, about a mile from the site. <br />Snowmobiling Routes <br />A number of snowmobile routes are designated in the area by federal and state agencies as well as local <br />clubs and merchants and include: <br /> Airport Route; <br /> Dam Road Route; <br /> East Kachess Route; <br /> Easton State Park Route; <br /> Easton/U-Fish Route; <br /> Reload Sno-Park Area; and <br /> Easton/Taneum-Tie Route, BPA transmission line easement corridor.
