February 10, 2011

Dear Interested Party
The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Marian Meadows proposal east of the community
of Easton is attached.
This FEIS addresses comments that were received on the Draft EIS (DEIS) and incorporates three additional
subdivision development alternatives, which are variations on Alternative 3, the No Action alternative in the
DEIS (i.e., development without approval of a PUD) including:
Alternative 3B, with approximately 147 lots at a 3-acre lot size excluding a 40 acre parcel east of the BPA
transmission line easement where the applicant has proposed a mini-storage use.
Alternative 3B, with approximately 33 lots at a maximum lot size of 3 acres excluding development on
the steep eastern portion of the site. This alternative responds to a request made by local
citizens during review of the DEIS.
Alternative 3D, with approximately 113 lots with the lots within the Airport Safety Zones (ASZ) of the
Easton State Airport developed at a maximum density of one unit per 5 acres. Additional
3-acre lots are located outside the ASZs. This alternative responds to a request made by
the Washington State Department of Transportation, Aviation Division.
In addition, Alternatives 4 and 5 were revised to reduce the total number of lots to about 147 and 113,
respectively, to provide for a maximum density with ASZs of one unit per 3 acres, in accordance with Kittitas
County Codes.
Major text revisions are indicated by a vertical line in the margin of the text, as indicated for this paragraph.
The information in this FEIS will be used by the county in reaching a decision on the pending applications for
a Planned Unit Development and preliminary plat.
Parties who responded to the DEIS are parties of record and will receive notice of future hearings for
consideration of the PUD and preliminary plat applications.
If you have questions about the proposal, please contact
Dan Valoff, Planner
Kittitas County Community Development Services
411 N.
