Public Works: <br /> <br />1) Required traffic control techniques must be <br />implemented for the event which may include chalk <br />Dan Henry signs on the roadway or large orange “bikes <br />on the roadway” signs placed along the route and at <br />intersections. The safety of both the event participates, <br />and the traveling public would benefit from these <br />traffic control strategies being implemented as the risk <br />of bicycle and motorized vehicle conflicts would be <br />reduced. <br />2) Local advertisement in the Daily <br />Record/Radio/physical posting two weeks in advance <br />to inform the traveling public of the upcoming event in <br />order to give them the choice to plan a different route <br />during this time period. <br /> <br />County Prosecutor: Certificate of Liability Ins. must <br />be submitted no later than 6-1-2018 @ 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Event Application to hold the Gran Fondo <br />Ellensburg (88 mile bicycle ride), contingent upon Mr. <br />Maedke (applicant), complying with the Public Works & <br />Sheriff recommendations.
