It is scheduled for Oct. 1, 2016.
Listed below is our trash and recycling plan for the event. Please respond to this email with your approval so I can
attach it to the application.
Thanks!
Manastash Metric Bike Ride
October 1, 2016
Trash and Recycling plan for the ride event
TRASH
We will have trash cans located at the Mt. Stuart School and St. John the Baptist Church in Cle Elum. This trash will be
taken care of during and after the event by the school and church staff.
We will provide heavy duty trash bags at all of the rest stops along both routes for garbage. These will be hauled back
to the staging area at the school at the end of the event and taken to the transfer station. All rest stop areas will be
kept clean and free of trash build Up during the ride and hauled back to the staging area by the SAG wagons if needed.
Volunteers wear disposable gloves when handling trash and garbage and use sanitary hand gel at all locations.
RECYCABLE ITEMS
We will place heavy duty boxes with lids at each rest stop, church and school for items that can be recycled. These
items will be hauled back to the staging area at the school and then taken to the transfer station to be recycled.
We will also have our staff our circling both routes all day to make sure the riders are safe and pick up any trash along
the routes created by the riders. In the past this has never been an issue, but we watch out for it and pick it up if it
does happen.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Carol Findley, Director
