  <br />   <br />   <br />   <br />16 <br />4: Projections – of geotourism potentials <br /> <br />Kittitas County market area population projections <br /> <br />Kittitas County’s principal market area is deemed to be counties <br />best served by major roadways including Interstate 90 serving King <br />and Pierce Counties to the west and Grant County to the east, US-2 <br />and US-97 serving Snohomish and Chelan Counties to the northwest <br />and Douglas County to the northeast, and Interstate 82 serving <br />Yakima and Benton Counties to the south. <br /> <br />§ Kittitas County population - increased from 9,704 persons in <br />1900 to 42,670 persons by 2015 fluctuating between a high of <br />10.3% average annual rate of growth between 1900-1910 to a low of <br />0.9% between 1970-1980.
