Washington State <br />OQ Department of Transportation Greenhouse Gas Emission <br />Reduction Policy Statement <br />1. Has your agency adopted policies to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions? <br />Yes 7 No 1-1 <br />2. Please describe specific goals and objectives of your agency's Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Policy, <br />and describe what components it includes, and how it is implemented. <br />On August 30th, 2011 Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners signed resolution no. <br />2011-076, adopting policies for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Kittitas County's <br />goals by adopting these policies is to reduce the need for imported oil through the <br />implementation of programs and policies promoting reduced energy bills, green space <br />preservation, air quality improvements, reduced traffic congestion, improved transportation <br />choices, and green house gas emission reduction. <br />Kittitas County's, Washington Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions Policies include Public <br />Buildings, Fleet/Vehicles, Equipment, Waste Reduction/Use, Land Use, Global, Public <br />Eduction/Outreach, and Transportation. <br />Kittitas County's overall land use development code, encourages development within our <br />designated urban growth areas. <br />3. RCW 70.235.070 requires project "consistency" with the state Greenhouse Gas emission limits, and <br />Vehicle Mile Traveled reduction benchmarks found in RCW 47.01.440. Please describe how your proposed <br />project is consistent with RCW 70.235.070. <br />The Kittitas County 1-90, Exit 78 Park and Ride project is consistent with RCW 70.235.070 by <br />identifying and proposing a facility to allow commuters to consolidate and reduce vehicle miles <br />traveled. Our project assumptions and calculations indicate how our project aims to reduce <br />Annual Vehicle Trips within the first year by 4,680 and reduce annual vehicle miles by 352,872. <br />Our project also shows that by year four we anticipate a 100% increase in users reducing <br />annual vehicle trips by 9,360 and reduce annual vehicle miles traveled by 705,744. <br />
