Kittitas County Community Development
411 N. Ruby St. Suite 2
Ellensburg, Wa. 98926
RECEIVED
JUN 3 0 2049
taGOM Y
Cos
Attn; Dave Valoff, Staff Planner
Subject: McIntyre Plat # LP -08-00015& Windbent Ranch Plat # LP -08-0016
Dear Mr. Valoff;
I am writing not to oppose said Plats, but only expressing some concern of the narrow
width of Game Farm Rd. and how it relates to the vision of distance as vehicles enter and
exit from proposed plats.
I have measured the hard surface width of Game Farm Rd. east and west of proposed
access lane 100 yds each way. The average width of hard surface road is 21.5 feet
with no shoulder. Because Game Farm Rd. is hilly in each direction especially to the west
of the proposed plats, the line of vision is very limited.
My concern is not that Game Farm Rd. cannot handle the additional traffic, but the
concern is vehicles traveling east on Game Farm Rd. cresting the hill at 40-50 mph only
to find a car stopped to get mail, or a car exiting or entering on to Game Farm Rd. at a
slow rate of speed, with a narrow road and no shoulder could be a little dangerous.
Will the County be looking at options, such as road widening, or a tum lane? What are
County road standards for minimum paved width for the class of road you consider Game
Farm Rd.to be?
In summary, if Game Farm Rd. was flat and there was a much greater line of sight
especially at the location of access I would have no concern.
Respectfully submitted,
Robert O. Kelley, resident 3 821 Game Farm Rd.
