A Kittitas County <br />V��Illcoep <br />Health <br />artment <br />To Protect and Promote the Health and the Environment of the People of Kittitas County �RECEIVE,) <br />June 26, 2008 JUIN 2 <br />?OQB <br />KITTIrAs <br />Mackenzie MoynihanCDs <br />Community Development Services <br />Dear Mackenzie: <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment on Tiger Preliminary Plat #fLP-08-22. <br />Any ground water development proposal that will withdraw water in excess of 5,000 gallons <br />per day for single or group domestic supply (the limit for exempt well water withdrawal), or <br />for the irrigation of more than 1/2 acre of lawn or non-commercial garden will require a permit <br />from the Department of Ecology. On March 28, 2002 the Washington State Supreme Court <br />ruled that the permit exemption of RCW 90.44.050 does not apply "where a developer of a <br />residential subdivision proposes multiple wells that will individually serve each Iot in the <br />development" which in combination exceed the exemption criteria. If such a permit does not <br />exist for this development I recommend that this plat utilize a Group B water system to <br />serve the 7 lots. A well site inspection must be performed to approve the site where the <br />well is.
