Subprojects (by,Core Capability) <br />Subproject #1 <br />Interdiction and Disruption <br />$ 24,650 <br />The Anal of this subproject is to equip response personnel with adequate resources and protection to respond to <br />terrorist attacks or threats within Region 7. The link to the approved project in the 16SHSP Investment Justification is — <br />4) Interdiction and Disruption -Specialty tactics teams have a gap related to training and equipment specific to domestic <br />terrorism and other terrorism risks; tactical ballistic vests need replacement and there is a need for on -scene medical <br />surge equipment. Gaps exists due to lack of equipment and aging equipment. The focus area for this funding cycle is <br />equipping and training specialty teams. Funding will be used to purchase monitors and hard drives for a mobile <br />forensics machine; a tactical pole camera; and heavy vests and ballistic plates for special teams. Additionally, some <br />funding will be used to purchase tourniquets for responders. Funding will also be used to pay for the Sheriffs Office <br />storage unit rental fees to safely store Items needed to respond to incidents. The desired outcome is for the Kittitas <br />County Sheriffs Office and special teams to be adequately equipped to respond to and engage in life-saving and life- <br />sustaining operations during terrorist attacks or threats, <br />Subproject #2 <br />Operational Coordination <br />$ 25,898 <br />The anal of this subproject is to enhance Operational Coordination for Region 7. The link to the approved project in the <br />16SHSP Investment Justification is — 5) Operational Coordination: A regional gap has been identified concerning the <br />number of trained personnel available to staff Emergency Operation Centers due to attrition of personnel a significant <br />increase in EOC activations over the past two years. Due to personnel turnover,ams exist the number of staff trained <br />to respond to EOC activations. The primary focus areas for this funding cycle is training for EOC operations and <br />fina will be used to pay for registrations and travel to trainings offered <br />regional tactical response capabilities. Egad <br />across the state and nation. Funding will also be used to support the annual county -wide active shooter exercise.
